AHG Badge Help – Living in the USA #12

Well now that it is spring, it means one thing to AHG leaders – time to plan summer activities.  Summer camp is one of the few times each year that I am still active in teaching badge classes.  In addition to being able to pour my heart into something I love, I am generating a ton of AHG related blog post ideas that I will be sharing with you.

The Living in the USA badge focuses on our individual states and the its uniqueness.  Requirement #12 looks at famous citizens from your state, including the ones placed in the National Statuary Hall.

A trip to Washington D.C. is full of potential learning and should be included on everyone’s bucket list.  Inside the US Capitol is a collection of statues. Each state has donated two statues to represent them.

For more information about them check out the the Architect of the Capitol website at www.aoc.gov

NOTE: The requirements have been simplified here. Please be sure to read the full text in the American Heritage Girl Handbook to make sure you fully understand the requirements.
