The fireplace mantle is a great place to keep all kinds of treasures.
My mantle is a combination of new, old and crafty. The lighthouse and white coral on the left was purchased from At Home. The boat in the middle was found laying around my dad’s house. My sister asked me to make her a canvas to place in her home, above the couch. I opted to make three separate canvases that can be grouped together or separately.
All three have the same background. I began by painting them white. Then while the paint was still wet I added some light blue and blended it in. This created a sky / cloud like affect. Continue reading “Building a home”
