Family Room Makeover – part 2, Mantle

The fireplace mantle is a great place to keep all kinds of treasures.

My mantle is a combination of new, old and crafty. The lighthouse and white coral on the left was purchased from At Home. The boat in the middle was found laying around my dad’s house.  The other items were little crafty projects that I worked on.  The rope bowl was the easiest project of all.  I re-purposed the glass fish bowl I bought to use as a terrarium that has long since died.  I set the bowl on a candle stick holder I purchased many years ago. The rope was neatly coiled inside.
