Both of my grandmothers had green thumbs. They could grow anything. Somewhere along the way, the gene got lost. I have a black thumb.
When Lily decided to work on the Gardening and Plant Science merit badge, I knew I was in trouble. For one of her optionals, she chose to build a terrarium.
We began this project researching terrariums. I did not know that they did not have to have a lid, so we used a fish bowl we picked up at the thrift store. For proper drainage we used glass marbles in the bottom. The plants were an assortment of plants that did not require much light. Lily added one of her Littlest Pet Shop toys to create a more visually appealing project.
This completed number 16 of the Gardening and Plant Science Merit Badge.
