Denim and Lace Rag Quilt

Recently my daughter’s room got a makeover.  A fresh coat of paint, new bedding, window treatments and a few new decor items.  The rugged denim paired with the softer lace matches her personality to a tee.  She prefers to wear jeans and boots whenever possible, but still has a soft feminine side.

The first major project for her room was this rag quilt.

How to sew on merit badges

Over the last 8 years I have spent many hours sewing on merit badges.  I went back and looked, Lily has earned over 100 merit badges, 45 service stars and countless fun patches.  I have always used invisible thread on my sewing machine to accomplish this.

Badge Help – Pen & Paper #17

Occasionally, when looking at a badge requirement, you will find that you have completed it (or part of it) without realizing that you have. Using construction paper and a sewing machine, you can create a garland to match any theme.

This month I am focusing on the Pen and Paper Badge.  Requirement #17 says to make decorations for a party or troop activity using paper.  A few years back, our Pioneer Unit hosted a baby shower for one of the troop leaders.  The paper products they found had pink and blue polka dots on them, but they could not find any decorations they liked to match, so we got creative and made our own. Sewing Kits for Operation Christmas Child

American Heritage Girls is proud to support Samaritan’s Purse and Operation Christmas Child in bringing the good news of Christ to children all over the world.
