I do not know many girls who do not enjoy tie-dying. No matter what you do, or what colors you use, a masterpiece is just around the corner.
While the craft part of the Textile Arts badge is easy to accomplish. I find that many PiPa’s struggle with completing the text-book part of the badge.
Recently I had the privilege of working with a group of Pioneers to complete the Creative Crafts Merit Badge. I was asked to lead the discussion on the topic of internet craft sales. This past summer, I taught the Textile Arts Merit Badge at summer camp to an amazing group of Pioneers. In addition to making several textile art projects we learned about the history of quilt making.
I inherited my love for quilts and quilting from my grandmother. This summer I taught the Textile Arts badge to a group of Pioneers. To go along with the class, I also made quilt block SWAPS. Each SWAP contains a mini quilt block along with a tag. Continue reading “Quilt SWAPS”
