Purple Baby Hat

Here is my first hat for the Click for Babies Campaign. What is not to love about a simple basic beanie.

This pattern was created by Carissa Browning.  It features a 2×2 rib border and a stockinette stitch body and simple K2tog decrease in the crown.  The pattern includes several variations, but I decided to knit the plain one first to see how I liked it.

The pattern was originally written for preemies, so it does need to be expanded.  I began by casting on 84 stitches instead of the recommended 72. I used approximately 55 yarns are Bernat Softee Baby yarn, the final hat is super soft and light weight.

One evening of television watching and the first hat is done.

A copy of the pattern can be found here.

Happy Knitting!
