When I sat down and began researching the badge requirements for Native American Badge, I was a little frustrated. The information is usually not in one location and required a bit of digging. And even then the information was conflicting.
Before you can understand the different styles of dress, houses, hair or art, it is important to give the girls some base knowledge to build on. Optional requirement #6 has the girls locate 8 different tribes on a map.
To help you with this, I created a three page pdf file (attached to the image below). Page one is a blank map for the girls to color as you discuss the various tribes. This is great for older girls. Page 2 (shown below) is already colored for you and all the girls need to do is label the map. Page 3 is the answer key.
To use this resource, click on the image below and print the page or pages that you need.
Please note that I am not an expert on this topic and attempted to combine information from several websites. Since the various tribes also moved the information is not exact, and varied throughout history. But for the purpose of teaching this badge, this printout should be helpful.
Don’t forget to add your printout to your AHG notebook.
