While researching information for teaching the Native American merit badge, I came across a web-page that has all the information needed to complete optional requirement #12 of the Native American merit badge.
If you go to Native-Languages.org you will find a page dedicated to the different hair styles. This page is written for children and should be easy for an Explorer to understand. It even includes pictures and a written explanation of the different styles along with how they were created.
