As a follow-up to the previous Teddy Blanket project. I also wanted to share this puppy. This pattern is also from the Stana’s Critters Etc. and is part of a set of four adorable lovies.
This is the most complicated of the four patterns available in the set (available for purchase here). The bottom layer of the blanket is knitted in two colors creating stripes. While the top is spotted. This pattern allowed me to work with stranded knitting for the first time. The stranded knitting took me much longer than expected but by the end of the project I had gotten the hang of it.
While the color options are endless, I used 56 grams (103 yards) of “Light Blue” Red Heart Super Saver acrylic yarn, 33 grams (61 yards) of “White” Red Heart Super Saver acrylic yarn, and a small amount (sorry I did not measure) of “Torrent” Bernat Handicrafter cotton.
Now to find a home for this guy. My kids are a little too big to be carrying a lovie around.
Happy knitting!
