Red bird
With my overloaded summer schedule, I did not get as much knitting completed as I had hoped. But when I received a call from my favorite organization asking for a basket of knit “critters”, I knew it was time to get busy.
This weeks knitting project is an adorable little bird designed by Rebecca Danger. I loved that the body was knitted in the round. Before attaching the knit wings and beak, I added a set of 6/0 beads for the eyes.

Hug Your Cat Day
Today is hug your cat day. Since my hubby is a dog person and hates has a strong dislike for cats, I thought I would share this adorable cat I knitted.
The Wise, Not-So-Old, Owl
When I think of owls, I associate them with wisdom. What about you? Archimedes, from the Sword and the Stone, guides young Merlin. Winnie the Pooh always seeks the advice of his friend Owl. And lets not forget Woodsy Owl, the icon for the US Forest Service, that told us to “Give a hoot — don’t pollute!”
When given the opportunity to test knit this adorable owl by Stana Sortor, I jumped at the chance. The pattern included a blanket, zippered bag and a stuffed owl. I tested the stuffed owl. Continue reading “The Wise, Not-So-Old, Owl”
