While I have not posted any knitting project lately does not mean the needles have not been clicking. I have completed the 12 dishcloths that were promised back in January. I will be posting them on seperate day to give you something to look forward to (and to keep me from having to sit still long enough to type them up in one day).

Dishcloth #10 is a pattern from The Little House in the Suburbs called Good Grief. It reminds me of good ole’ Charlie Brown’s shirt. Check out the original pattern here.

For once I did not alter the pattern, and used the needle size they recommended.

Two more dishcloths to post in this series and then we will change colors. 🙂

The set of 12 different dishcloths has taken me longer than anticipated. Who knew 6 months later I would still be staring at this plain ecru yarn. Well at least I am 3/4ths of the way done. Here is my latest installment.

The pattern came from another blog (Chocolate Mints in a Jar). The only variation I made is I used a #7 needle instead of the #6 she recommends.  I must say it is not my favorite pattern that I have made so far, but the dishcloth has a good amount of texture.

The pattern for this dishcloth was found on TLC as was described as a “designer dishtowel”. They called it the blue dishcloth since they used blue cotton thread, however since I did not use blue, I came up with a new name for it. I also made mine a little smaller since I did not want a rectangular cloth but prefer a square cloth for washing dishes.

Earlier this year I began a series of dish clothes. I decided to make 12 different patterns as I learned to knit.  Other projects have caused me to put them on hold, but I am back to making dishclothes. Here is a list of the others that I have made.

Dishcloth #7 is a Waffle Weave pattern I found on HomespunLiving.com  This pattern was originally published in November of 2007 and included a stripe in the center. I opted to make mine with only one color, so to keep with the set.

Well I am halfway complete with my dozen dishclothes as I learn to knit.  If you are just joining me, here are the previous five dishclothes I made.

As I said when I learned the seed stitch, I love the texture that it created so I wanted to incorpate it into another one of my dishclothes.  I found a potholder over at allfreeknitting.com that looked interesting. Using this concept I created a dishcloth.

The difference between the pattern and what I did was I only knitted with one strand since I didn’t want it extra thick. I also used size 8 needles, since those are the ones I was given and it keeps the stitches same size as the others.
