While earning the Photography merit badge PiPas not only practice their photography skills, they also look at the history of photography. Requirement 26 has them research two individuals that impacted photography. While Joseph Nicephore Niepce is created as inventing photography, we would not all be carrying a camera with us everywhere, via the smartphone, without the contributions of many other people.
If you are looking to complete this requirement here is a list of possible people to research.
- Frederick Scott Archer
- George Eastman
- Louis Daguerre
- Philippe Kahn
- William Henry Fox Talbot
- James Clerk Maxwell
- Joseph Nicephore Niepce
- Steven Sasson
- Alexander Wolcott
- Johann Zahn
This list is made up of inventors and does not include those who contributed to the artistic nature of photography. There are hundreds of photographers that impacted the world. If you know any great ones that should be researched, comment below.
