We love living in Florida. While the rest of the country survived a record amount of snow this year, we have watched the azaleas bloom in January. My kids wear shorts 10 months a year and we enjoy the beach all year-long. Even if you do not live in Florida, odds are if you enjoy going to the beach. And you probably have a stash of shells the kids have collected that you do not know what to do with. Why not use them to make cute jewelry while working on the Creative Crafts merit badge.

Doll Bench
The Home Care and Repair merit badge is one of my favorites, especially at the PiPa level. However, since Lily is an Explorer, completing this badge has eluded her. She has put it off because she could not find a project to build from wood that did not involve a kit. Finally, a decision was made – a simple bench for her American Girl Doll.
Feeling Blessed
With St. Patrick’s Day right around the corner, there is a lot of talk about leprechauns, pots of gold, and luck. However, I know that I am not lucky, I’m blessed.
My blessings are too numerous to count. Included in that list is being able to spend my days (when I’m not homeschooling) crafting. Recently, I have developed an interest in creating simple canvas signs. Nothing elaborate, but still enjoyable.
