In January I began knitting a set of twelve dishcloths for Christmas presents this year. Not surprising to anyone but myself, I was up to the wire knitting. I did complete 2 sets of dishcloths and most of the third. My poor sister received an IOU for the remaining dishcloths.

January Dishcloth
Did you know that there is 354 days till Christmas? For us crafters it’s never to early to start thinking about Christmas. My knitted dishcloths have been a hit, and my sweet sister even requested another set for Christmas 2015.
Via Pinterest, I found a blog post on Kathleen’s Creations blog where she donated a set of 12 dishcloths to charity, one for each month of the year. Each dishcloth was a different color and matched the month. I loved the idea so I have decided to adapt the idea to work for me. I have been scouring the internet looking for free patterns that will make dishcloths that are the same size to create a set for Christmas 2015.
For January, I purchased a couple skeins of Robin Egg blue by Sugar ‘n Cream and knitted up a snowflake pattern by Monnibo Designs that I found on Ravelry (here). It should come as no surprise to you that I changed the border on the pattern by slipping purl-wise the first stitch of each row in order to create a smoother border. I also used a size 6 needle, instead of the size 7 she recommends.
If you are interested in the set, check back on the first Monday of each month a new pattern.
