Well, here it is the last Friday in February. The new year is already slipping away. Before we know it, spring will be here. During the month of February I am focusing on the Freedom Seekers Merit Badge since it is Black History Month. Requirement #12 of Freedom Seekers has the girls make a corn husk doll and write a story about their doll.

Amazing Grace – Freedom Seekers #8
Many of us are familiar with the song “Amazing Grace”. Today it is often associated with funerals and the promise of our eternal life. During the Civil War it was popular with slaves and abolitionists, and encouraged them to seek freedom that would come either in this life or after.
