I love growing fresh herbs in my kitchen window. Herbs are one of the few plants I have been able to grow successfully. They are available all year-long and even if I manage to kill the plants (which happens more often than I care to admit), I am able to save the dried leaves and use them. To add a little more nautical touch to the family room, I added a life preserver I picked up at the thrift store. It originally came with faded red ribbon and the wooden circle part was unfinished.
