AHG Badge Help – Dawn of Our Country, Tenderheart #5

Did you know that today is American Eagle Day? Today we recognize the day that the bald eagle was added to the official seal of the United States in 1782.

Tenderheart requirement #5 of the Dawn of Our Country badge looks at this national symbol. The eagle represents freedom, strength and honesty.

John F. Kennedy sums it up by saying…

The Founding Fathers made an appropriate choice when they selected the bald eagle as the emblem of the nation. The fierce beauty and proud independence of this great bird aptly symbolizes the strength and freedom of America.

To help Tenderhearts complete this requirement, I have made a worksheet they can add to their binder (here).  Just download and print the pdf by clicking on the image below.

NOTE: The requirements have been simplified here. Please be sure to read the full text in the American Heritage Girl Handbook to make sure you fully understand the requirements.
