Have you been following the internet sensation of April the Giraffe? If you have missed it, a giraffe at Animal Adventure Park, April, is pregnant. A video monitor has been set up in her stall and you can watch her live as she prepares to give birth. So let me introduce you to my lastest knitting project – a tiny toy giraffe.
I began with a free pattern written by Nancy Anderson. The pattern is available on the Red Heart Yarn website (here). The first major change I made was to knit the body, head, legs, and ears in the round. I have a strong dislike for seams and try to avoid them at all cost.
The horns and tail are a simple i-cord piece. You will also notice that I did not include a mane in the finished project.
