My niece’s love for everything Star Wars, inspired me to create these Yoda SWAPS. With the use of glow-in-the-dark paint, these SWAPS were a big hit.
Supplies Needed:
- This pdf file
- Card stock
- 1/8 inch dowel sticks
- Sturdy scissors, or hedge pruners
- Sandpaper
- Neon green, glow in the dark paint
- Silver paint
- Paint brush
- Wax paper
- White school glue
- Safety pins
- Ink pen
Step 1: Print this pdf onto cardstock. Each page contains 4 of each of the 3 sayings shown in the picture above, for a total of 12 per page. Cut along the dotted lines. Using a ink pen, write your name, troop # and event information of the back of each card.
Step 2: Paint the dowel sticks with neon green glow in the dark paint. (Yoda’s light saber should be green). I left the dowel sticks whole at this point and placed them on wax paper to dry. It took several coats of paint to achieve the look I desired.
Step 3: Using a pair of heavy duty scissors, or garden pruners, cut the dowel rod into 2 inch pieces. Lightly sand each end to remove any rough spots.
Step 4: Paint one tip of each piece with the silver paint. Allow to dry.
Step 5: Touch up the cut end with green paint. Allow to dry
Step 6: Using white school glue, add on light saber to each card prepared in step one. After the glue has dried add a safety pin.
Step 7: SWAP
