The hat series for the orphans in Kenya continues. Today’s installment is another free hat pattern I found on Ravelry. The pattern for the Quick Ribs Hat can be found here.
The pattern is written with three sizes in mind. Using some more of my pink bulky yarn and size 8 needles, I made the medium-sized hat. I believe that there is an error in the pattern and row 18 should read *K1, K2tog* repeat from * to * across the row. For if you follow the written instructions the stitch count does not work.
Personally, this is not one of my favorite hats. I think the stockinette stitch at the top in contrast to the large section of ribs does not flow well, and would be better with a ribbed decrease.
