AHG Badge Help – Aviation #15

AviationHave you completed the Aviation merit badge? Do you know the difference between yawl and pitch?

I found a great interactive children’s game to help explain the difference between the two.

Take a few minutes and check out the Flight Adventures Game for students found at the Children’s Museum of Indianapolis. The game allows children to change the elevons and rudder on the FPG-9 to direct it to the target.  The elevons and rudder control the pitch, yawl yaw and roll.

This website was recommended in the AHG Handbook for help with the Living and Working in Space Merit Badge.

AHG Badge Help – Aviation #17

AviationI have found the Aviation Merit Badge to be one of the more challenging merit badges American Heritage Girls has to offer.  It requires a lot of technical knowledge to be able to teach it, or a good hands-on museum. But, considering today is Amelia Earhart’s Birthday, I wanted to offer some assistance for those working on this badge.
